Audicus Employee Spotlight

Meet Bianca Liquori, Audiologist!

Audicus strives to provide top-tier hearing aids and services to our customers. Let’s see who’s working behind the scenes to make that happen. What is your role at Audicus, and how did your career path get you here? Bianca is an Audiologist with Audicus, and is based out of Colorado. She says “I wasn’t specifically looking for a new role, but I did some research into the company and it sounded revolutionary in how they provide hearing care. It changes the game for Audiology.”  During her workday, Bianca does a mixture of seeing patients online, and also works in-clinic with our veterans. As a military spouse, Bianca enjoys working with veterans and finds the work very meaningful. She enjoys working with C&P exams, and also works with patients online. What made you want to become an Audiologist? Bianca had an interesting journey to Audiology. Both of her parents were dental hygienists, and Bianca originally thought she wanted to pursue a career as a dentist. While in college, she shadowed a family friend in a private practice, but says “it didn’t feel like it was for me.” She eventually fell into the speech therapy route, and a friend encouraged Bianca to look into a Speech Therapy and Audiology program. She felt she came to a crossroads, eventually finding both an Audiologist and Speech Therapist to shadow. She says “once I observed the Audiologist, I knew that was the job for me – I could see myself doing this every day.” She ended up shadowing this Audiologist for 9 months, and eventually applied to graduate schools. Any advice for someone wanting to pursue a career in Audiology? “What helped me the most was to shadow others.” Bianca says she was lucky enough to have parents in the healthcare profession, and reached out to their connections asking if anyone would be open to her shadowing them.  If she did not have that opportunity, she “would have started cold calling clinics, and asked if I could shadow them.” Being able to shadow in a clinic allows you to observe the job on a day-to-day basis, and “that’s what you’d be doing every day.” What do you like to do outside of work? Outside of work, Bianca has quite a few hobbies, including a love for reading books. She has her own library in her home, and says “it’s my sanctuary.”  She’s a member of Book of the Month Club, and one of her favorite reads was “The Martian.” Another one of her favorite books-turned-television series is “Dark Matter” by Blake Crouch. Bianca also has a piano that lives in her library - it was gifted by one of her friends, and she’s trying to teach herself how to play again.  Hiking is another passion, and she often goes on hikes with her husband. Recently, they tackled the Manitou Incline in Colorado, climbing its 2,744 stairs one way. Traveling is also a favorite activity; she recently visited Hawaii, where the highlight of their trip to the big island was night snorkeling with manta rays. She recalls “20-foot manta rays were swimming right past our face” and loved the experience.  Lastly, Bianca has a long-haired dachshund named Harlow, and says he’s “me in furry form.” __ Thank you for all you do, Bianca!
